Habas are fava beans, also called broad beans. As a snack they are larger and denser than peanuts, with a firm crunch and a mild, slightly nutty flavor that lets the chile come through. Habas con chile (also sold as habas enchiladas) are a traditional Mexican botana and can be hard to find in US stores.
The chile seasoning coats the outside of each bean, so the flavor hits right away. Each bag holds 1 lb (16 oz), enough for sharing or for keeping stocked at home.
