Description
Whole roasted and salted pumpkin seeds with the shell on, sold by the pound. These are the ones you crack open with your teeth, not the small green hulled pepitas.
The shell is the whole point. Roasting gives it a toasted, nutty crunch that the hulled version doesn’t have, the salt sits right on the shell so you taste it first, and cracking them one by one is what makes these last through a whole movie or a long drive.
How people eat them:
- Straight out of the bag, as a botana
- With lime juice and chile powder on top of the salt
- Mixed into a bowl with cacahuates, chicharrones, or Japanese peanuts
- On top of elote, esquites, or fruit cups
- Crushed over soups, salads, or guacamole
